Baked Samosas without onion-garlic

Thought: Who doesn't like samosas? But many of us avoid it because of too much oil content. So, I thought of making this baked version. Do try this recipe out, believe me its better and healthier than the oily ones.


**Best to use an oxy-fryer / air-fryer. You can also, use cake oven or microwave oven for this.


Ingredients:

For filling:
  • 3-4 medium size boiled potatoes
  • 2-3 tsp roasted cumin-coriander powder
  • Some fried peanuts
  • Some boiled peas
  • Some ginger julienne 
  • Salt, turmeric and chilli powder as per taste
  • Some chopped coriander leaves
  • a pinch of asafoetida (optional)
You can make any filling of your choice.

For outer layer:
  • 2-3 cups maida or all purpose flour
  • 1-2 tsp ajwain or carom seeds
  • 1-2 tsp white oil
  • water 

Method:

For filling:

  • Boil some potatoes and peas. Take a pan add some roasted cumin and coriander powder. Then add some fried peanuts followed by the mashed potatoes and boiled peas. 
  • Add some ginger julienne, salt, turmeric powder and chilli powder as per taste. You can add asafoetida. Add some some coriander leaves.

For the outer coating:  Take some all purpose flour or maida. Add some salt, ajwain and white oil. Mix everything...and add water to make a dough. Rest it for a while.

Final process: Finally, make some half circle shaped rotis. Try making a cone now. Fill it with the stuffing made. Seal the edges using water and then bake them in air fryer for 20 mins @140° and 10 mins @200°.
